The Mount Continuing Care Community is currently seeking Human Resources Manager for our long-term care facility in Charlottetown, PEI. The Mount Continuing Care Community is committed to providing the highest quality of care guided by our core values; compassion, respect, and hospitality.
Purpose of Position
Reporting to the administrator, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies and procedures. The Human Resource Manager will also act in compliance with Provincial Community Care and Nursing Care Regulations.
Main Duties
Recruit, Interview, and hire of new employees.
Participating in administrative staff meetings.
Oversee performance and attendance management with department supervisors.
Build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Support and oversees the daily workflow of the front office.
Handle and support department supervisors with discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Handle requests and queries appropriately.
Orientate new employees, prepare new employee paperwork, and keep employee files up to date.
Scheduling for several departments within the organization.
Use payroll processing system to assist with payroll.
Welcomes guests and customers by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquiries.
Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Completes projects as assigned, using a variety of software tools.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Orientate new employees, prepare new employee paperwork, and keep employee files up to date.
Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Other duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum of post-secondary diploma in human resources, business administration or related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Ability to work as a team member and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Working Environment
Days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Shifts timings ranging from 4-12 hours.
Additional Information:

Frequent interaction with residents, family members, and the public
Position Available:100% Temp for 12-18 months Wage Range:To be determined- Based on education and experience.
Shifts may range from 4 to 12 hours, with a combination of days, evenings, weekends and holidays. The successful applicant must be able to work a combination of shifts, with flexibility.
