Purpose of Position Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Resource Nurse will be providing nursing care under the direction of medical practitioners and the Director of Nursing for 50% of the role and the remaining 50% will be identifying, developing and delivering staff educational requirements for all staff in every department of The Mount as appropriate. The Clinical Resource Nurse will be assigned to one floor for the majority of their work but will be required to support in other areas. The Clinic Resource Nurse will also act in compliance with Provincial Community Care and Nursing Care Regulations.
Main Duties • Develop and present clinical education in-services for staff of all departments of The Mount including Community Care, Multi-service, Nutrition Services and Maintenance as well as Nursing Care staff, as the need is identified. • Assume responsibility of the nursing home operation in the absence of the Director of Nursing and/or administrator (as per regulations, formally delegate duties if gone for more than four weeks) • Assess residents to identify appropriate nursing interventions and provide training and direction to staff as required. • Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate resident care in consultation with residents and their families. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or according to established policies and protocols. • Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and change in residents’ conditions. • Supervise LPNs, RCWs, RAs, volunteers, and other staff. • Develop and implement personal care plans on resident admission. • Manage complex home care cases, participate in community needs assessment and program development, conduct disease screening and deliver immunization programs. • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality. • Other duties as required.
Requirements • Completion of a university or college, or other recognized registered nursing program. • Current registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of PEI. • Ability to work as a team member and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position. • Considerable experience in Nursing with an emphasis on developing educational training programs.
Working Environment • Rotating shifts of 4, 6, 8 and 12 hours. • Rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. • Neighborhoods will consist of 15-20 residents. • Frequent interaction with residents, family members, and the public.

Shifts may range from 4 to 12 hours, with a combination of days, evenings, night, weekends and holidays. The successful applicant must be able to work a combination of shifts, with flexibility.
Wage Range: $34.50-36.25 Hourly Position available: Permanent Full Time (100%)
