The Mount Continuing Care Community is looking for students currently enrolled in the Resident Care Worker program to work casual and part-time. The Mount Continuing Care Community is committed to providing the highest quality of care guided by our core values; compassion, respect, and hospitality. This position reports to the team leader, or Director of Nursing, and assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in our continuing care community.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Be enrolled in an RCW program (with good standing).
• Be able to work as a team member and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Have a valid criminal record check.
• Have up to date CPR training and all immunizations.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Answer call signals; assist residents to the bathroom; bathe, dress and groom residents; serve meals, feed or assist in feeding of residents and assist residents with menu selection; weigh, lift, turn, and position residents; monitor nutritional intake; and perform other duties related to resident care and comfort.
• Take residents' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; report or record fluid intake and output.
• Follow proper resident transfer policies.
• Make beds and maintain residents’ rooms.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Other duties as required.
Shifts available that may work with your school schedule include (but are not limited to):
• Evenings: 4 – 10 pm, 3 – 11 pm
• Days: 7 am – 3 pm, 7 am – 12 noon
