The Mount Continuing Care Community is looking for Resident Care Workers who are highly motivated, energetic, caring, and dedicated to person-centered care. RCW's are a critical part of our healthcare team and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and social care to patients. This position reports to the team leader, or Director of Nursing, and assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in our continuing care community.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Education from a recognized RCW program or equivalent experience
Experience in dementia care is an asset.
A valid criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
Up to date CPR training.
Up to date immunizations and TB testing.
Recent (within 1 year) CPR certification and up to date TLR certification is also a requirement.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Answer call signals; assist residents to the bathroom; bathe and dress residents; assist resident to dining area and meal set-up; set up and provide leisure activities for residents, and perform other duties related to resident care and comfort.
Provide activities for residents, promote person centered care, socialize and engage with residents for activities of daily living.
Take residents' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; observe or monitor residents' status and document resident care on charts; administer first aid in emergency situations.
Follow proper resident transfer policies (TLR).
Make beds and maintain residents’ rooms.
Maintain confidentiality.
Other duties as required.

Wage: Beginning at $18.90 per hour
Shifts may range from 3 to 12 hours, with a combination of days, evening, nights, weekends, holidays. The successful applicant must be able to work a combination of shifts, with flexibility.
