The Mount Continuing Care Community is looking for full-time and part-time Community Care Resident Care Workers in our long-term care facility in Charlottetown, PEI. This position reports to the community care team leader, and assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in our continuing care community.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Education from a recognized RCW program or equivalent experience
• Demonstrate experience in medication administration.
• A valid criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
• Up to date CPR training.
• Up to date immunizations and TB testing.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Administer medications, treatments, creams to residents.
• Answer call signals; assist residents to the bathroom; bathe and dress residents; assist resident to dining area and meal set-up; set up and provide leisure activities for residents, and perform other duties related to resident care and comfort.
• Provide activities for residents, promote person centered care, socialize and engage with residents for activities of daily living.
• Take residents' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; observe or monitor residents' status and document resident care on charts; administer first aid in emergency situations.
• Follow proper resident transfer policies (TLR).
• Make beds and maintain residents’ rooms.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Other duties as required.

Wage:
$18.75 per hour for candidates with a recognized RCW/PSW program or equivalent education
$15.75 per hour for candidates without a recognized RCW/PSW program or equivalent education


Shifts may range from 3 to 12 hours, with a combination of days, evening, nights, weekends, holidays.
The successful applicant must be able to work a combination of shifts, with flexibility.
