Any Islanders who have traveled outside of Canada (whether experiencing symptoms or not) are required to self-isolate for 14 days following their return. This includes teachers, students and health care workers.
Cancel all non-essential travel outside of country.
Reconsider attending social gatherings where a 2-meter distance is not possible, especially if the elderly or immune-compromised people are present.
This means visitors to The Mount will be turned away if you have traveled out of country, or if you are experiencing symptoms.
Symptoms include: Fever Cough, new onset or worsening of existing cough Difficulty breathing
Activities will be modified. Each activity will be gauged as to the appropriateness for our residents. It is important for our residents to have as much of a normal routine as possible during this time.
Your cooperation at this time is greatly appreciated. If you have not traveled and you have no symptoms, please remember to WASH YOUR HANDS when you come to visit. There is alcohol-based hand sanitizer located throughout the building.
